Upgrade of Billerud Beetham Energy Centre

When Billerud Beetham. a world leader in the manufacture of speciality paper to the Health Care and Packaging markets, were looking to upgrade their energy centre they chose to purchase 2 high efficiency Cochran Thermax boilers. The boiler and economiser systems were designed to be over 94% efficient and fitted with Cochran's Equinox burner complete with touch screen, microprocessor controls and variable speed drives.

Apart from the product quality Cochran was selected by Billerud because of the capability to manage the complete turnkey installation, to integrate the new plant with the existing facilities and then to deliver a complete after-market service.

Tony Halhead - Engineering Manager of Billerud - stated that "When selecting Cochran we looked at the whole package they could deliver. The support we received from Cochran was first class and the project was delivered on budget and on schedule. Billerud expect a payback of 2 years on their £1million investment representing 13% annual fuel saving as a result of the new installation"
